Register a song or release

You can register the song or release now, with everyone who took part, so that everything is in order. If the song is played on radio, TV, in shops or other public places, everyone registered on the recording can get a payment.

You cannot register new songs yet. We are working on it. But you have plenty of time. You can get money up to three years after the song is played. If you find the song after logging in, you can add yourself to it now.

  • You can get money if you sing, play or have another performing role on the recording.
  • You can also get money if you paid for the recording, for example as a record label or because you release the music yourself.
  • You have three years to get money for a song that has been played. If you want everything in order now, you can register it yourself.
  • The money comes the year after the song is played.

What did you do on the recording?

Performer

You sing, play or have another performing role on the recording.

Producer

You finance and organise the recording. This can be a record label, or you, if you release the music yourself.

Many people have both rights, especially those who release music themselves. If that applies to you, you can register as both performer and producer on the recording.

Has the song already been played?

If it has been played on the radio or as background music, the recording is usually already at Gramo, and you can add yourself to it (in Norwegian) instead of registering it again.

If the song was played this year, you will not find it until early next year, when we have gone through everything that was played. If you want everything in order now, you can register the recording yourself.

Questions and answers

If you also wrote the song or the lyrics, you may be entitled to money from TONO as well.
